This is a superb specimen of relatively large and stout crystals of Smithsonite intergrown as a fine two-tone cluster. The great Tsumeb Mine is justifiably famous for many species, Smithsonite among them. This small cabinet cluster of pseudocubic Smithsonite is dominated by several large crystals up to 2,5 cm associated with countless, smaller, interpenetrating Smithsonites. The butterscotch-tan colour is due to the cadmium inclusions and came from a specific pocket of the early 1970s. A super specimen, almost pristine with well defined, sharp and highly lustrous crystals. TOP
