Silver on Acanthite (Ref: 332)

A fine and rich ore specimen from Schlema in the Erzgebirge Mts. of Saxony. So typical and aesthetic, with numerous of small wires and curls with fine metallic sheen and excellent patina, richly set as a large and dense ´ball of wool´ on Acanthite matrix. A fine specimen from the heydays of this great mining area, termed from the Russians as Bismuth mining, but actually the mines were under construction for the Uranium production. Nowaydays all mines are closed, the dumps are recultivated and consequently collecting is strictly prohibited. So, such fine and rich specimens are still history and hard come by. They are nowadays treasured by the locals and achieve high numbers. But this is an inexpensive piece of very good quality. The price-perfomance ratio is unbeatable.
