Wulfenite (Ref: 273)

Here we have an excellent plate of tabular, sandwich-coloured Wulfenite on minor gossan matrix. Old Slovenian Wulfenites really set the standard in old mineralogy, and in European collecting of lead minerals in particular, for a long time. Today, most people are familiar with the great Wulfenites from Arizona, Mexico, and China, and have forgotten that Slovenia actually produced Wulfenites that could rank among the world´s top locales. This is one such piece, a very old specimen that has large size, a pure butterscotch color, and thick, bladed-robust crystals with very minor edge wear on lsee crystals at the periphery. A superb specimen and considering size and quality and overall aesthetics, the price is almost a bargain.
