"Pecos diamonds" are well known from New Mexico, but amongst these crystals are a high concentration of an unusual habit referred to as "pseudocubic" quartz. These quartz crystals exhibit dominant r-faces with an interface angles of 85°46’, giving the specimens the appearance of being cubes. ex. V H.
