Druse of Quartz (variety amethyst) crystals, one of them clearly dominant and with a considerable size. They are coating the surfaces of a group of now missing Calcite crystals, preserving their original shape. The crystals show a neat geometric color zoning, clearer on the prism faces and deep violet on the terminations. The sample is from a not well known quarry at the classic Artigas área and where very interesting and esthetic samples are today being recovered.La Soberana Quarry, Catalán Grande area, Artigas Department Uruguay (09/2011)
