Pyrite Pseudomorph of Marcasite w/ Calcite from Canada (Ref: JV20-PYCAL)
Nanisivik Mine, Baffin Island, Nunavut, Canada
140mm x 69mm x 35mm
$800
We've sold a lot of pyrite specimens over the years, but this is easily one of the top all-time specimens! It is absolutely exquisite, and so much better in person than the camera can relay. The pyrite is so bright and shiny, and the unusual crystal shapes make this one really stand out. The pyrite is actually a pseudomorph of marcasite which explains the unusual crystal shape. Near the top of the specimen are two calcite crystal clusters that form ball-shapes, but they're actually made up of several pale-orange-peachish crystals. The larger cluster is 1.7cm long. The pyrite crystals are up to 1.5cm. Data last checked on 14th Sep 2021 - specimen may no longer be available
