Colorful bi-color Corundum var. Ruby crystals on a pegmatite base with black Muscovite and Pyrope var. Rhodolite from Zazafotsy Quarry, Fianarantsoa Province, Madagascar. The Corundum crystals up to 19mm have rich color variations from purple to violet. They are hexagonal crystals with flat terminations. The luster is strong and the crystals are slightly translucent. Red Pyrope var. Rhodolite grows around the Ruby. Some unidentified elongated prismatic crystals are seen too. Some natural imperfections and damages., Marvelous!
