Outstanding crystal of very rare twinned Whewellite with small incrustations of Siderite and Chalcopyrite from the famous Schlema-Hartenstein District of Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany. This specimen was mined more that 30 years ago (in 1990) in 1575 level, Shaft 371 by a miner and kept in his personal collection. Whewellite is a chemically unusual hydrated-calcium-oxalate. It displays a superb Whewellite with sharp crystallization all over. It is translucent and colorless with a pearly luster. It is twinned which is even more unusual. Small yellow Chalcopyrite crystals and cream colored Siderite grow above. In very good condition – some small imperfections. On acrylic base., Exceptional Whewellite!
