Anglesite (Ref: 9507284)
Monteponi Mine, Iglesias, Iglesiente District, Cagliari Province, Sardinia, Italy
110mm x 60mm x 45mm
$2500
One of the most noted old localities in Europe for anglesite is Monteponi. Generally the examples available on today's market from this locality feature small crystals. The specimen above is a "monster", with one crystal measuring 6.0 cm in length! The crystals are milky and colorless, with a decent luster and some translucency. The only damage present would be at the base of the largest crystal, lower right in the main photo, where there is contacting from previous matrix resultant from removing the specimen from the cavity in the mine. There are three crystals present, all are sharply terminated and undamaged on the terminations. The specimen measures 11.0 x 6.0 x 4.5 cm in size overall. This is very choice.Data last checked on 11th Aug 2021 - specimen may no longer be available
