This is a Calcite with Limonite and Hematite from Liuyang City, near Changsha, Hunan, China. Another classic older style of Chinese calcite, these dramatic scalenohedral calcites are intergrown both with inclusions of reddish hematite (iron) and Limonite, some of which sticks out in bubbles upon the surface of the calcite.Data last checked on 26th Aug 2024 - specimen may no longer be available
